Code Grizzlers: I got a code 12 on my grizzly today while driving through the woods. Does anyone have a clue of what this code is. My ATV wouldn't start. It just shut down and I had to be towed out of the woods by a big bear.

I was dragging some small tree branches yesterday and my grizzley EFI backfired and died. Until that moment, it has run perfectly since I bought it new. It restarts but doesn't want to keep running. After sitting for an hour, it started, ran for 30 seconds and then died again and was harder to restart.
It has less than miles, has never been in water, and has good gas in the tank. I called my dealer and his guess was the fuel pump. I don't have a service manual. Is there a fuel filter in the fuel line somewhere? Is the fuel pump in the gas tank? I will probably buy a manual; are the aftermarket ones good enough? Yamaha wants 80 bucks for theirs. Thanks in advance for any replies.
The fuel pump is in the gas tank, it is located directly behind the filler cap under the plastic. I would test it before you replace it, your problem could just as easily be the fuel injector or the throttle position sensor, or something else. A repair manual is definately a good idea because it should have specs and info that you can use to test some of the possible problem parts and it will also have a troubleshooting guide that can help you diagnose your problem. It is hard to find aftermarket manuals for newer machines, so I think the factory manual is going to be your only option, but it is the best way to go IMO.
You will save alot of money on the parts by buying them from an online retailer, and they have the same OEM parts that the dealer will have. Good luck. Wish I'd bought the extended warranty. My last Yamaha Moto4 went 20 years with no service problems. Thanks for the replies. I would get a manual and try and diagnose the problem yourself before letting a dealer rape you and maybe replace a few things that don't need replacing before they get it right. Just my personal opinion, I would never, take my quad to a dealer unless I wasn't paying for it.
Just too expensive. Ether way, good luck.Join us now! Forgot Your Password? Forgot your Username? Haven't received registration validation E-mail? User Control Panel Log out.Alipay history

Grizzly started running rough and won't idle So I was out hunting on Wednesday and my grizz just stalled after coming to a stop. I started it back up and it was running rough and I had to use throttle to start it and keep it running. If I stabbed the throttle it would take off like a rocket like nothing was wrong, but as soon as I let off the throttle and slowed to a near stop it would stall.
Trying to start it would not be possible without using the throttle and even then was difficult and would occasionally back fire. The LCD never showed any codes that I saw. After bringing it home I went into diagnostic mode to check all the values. D01 throttle angle sensor started out saying 75 with no throttle being pressed.
According to the service manual in the closed position should be between in the fully closed position. When fully applying the throttle it reports manual says as spec for fully open.
Now I am wondering if the TPS has bit the big one or if it's something else. When checking D61 for the code history it reported 22, 30, and Now I have tipped the machine on it's side which threw an CIL and would be the cause of the 30 error code. Code 22 was caused because I had the airbox pulled off and had the sensor unplugged. Not sure on the cause of 33 Malfunction detected in the primary lead of the ignition coil and not sure if it's related to the issues I'm having.
Any easy way to confirm if it's a faulty TPS or could there be any other possible causes.Makita table saw 2708
